Photo Competition

Yesterday I was speaking to Sean, and he suggested that we could run a photo competition to raise money for BARC. Would anyone be interested?

I see it working like this...

We all get together for a sponsored walk, and bring as many dogs, and ex BARC rescue dogs along as possible. You guys could raise sponsorship money for the walk as stage one. Stage two is me taking a lot of pictures while we walk, and also a few posed pictures of each dog/family with dog, or whatever else you fancy (time allowing). I'll then put them all online so you can see/buy them. 100% of profits made will go to BARC.

Firstly then I'd like to know what you all might (realistically) like as prizes for the top three dogs of the day.

Also, if anyone has feedback on this idea regarding prizes, locations, dates, what you'd happily pay for prints etc - please post it here so we can all get involved and get walking before summer's over haha.

Hi John, yes another good idea if it is any help Sam (manager of Goldthorpe shop ) has a friend who makes up rosettes for shows she is doing ours for the next BARC dog show and is very reasonble you could present each winner with one of these.

Andrew the Vice Chair, is due to announce details of a large sponsored walk planned for September, any time now. Keep your eyes peeled for that.

John if you can tie in the photo element that would be great!

It was suposed to be sometime in September, I will ask Andrew how we are getting on with the arrangements at the next meeting on the 18th and let you know!

This sounds like a plan, depending on the date me and Mia would love to be there!!!

Even if the September plans fall through we will definately have a walk at some point, its just trying to organise it before the weather turns bad.

Where do you live??? its not been the best summer here in Rotherham. Winter might have the better weather

The longer we have for organising the better really and doesnt really matter about the weather apart from for the photos, if people dress for the occasion!! lol

Yes i have some SCUBA gear you can borrow!

Im sure the dogs will be thrilled and look good in the SCUBA gear!!!
