Rescue chickens?

I’m going to be in the market for 3 to 4 chickens in the near future as I have an allotment and so have the space. I wondered if there were any available to rescue via BARC as it would be nice to rescue rather than go straight to a farm? My only preferences are that they are still able to lay and are in good health.

I’m aiming to be ready within the next couple of months, providing I can build the coup and run by then.

Your full of hidden talents aren't you? if you ring Kath on the advice line and speak to her, she deals with all the foul, aviary and anything else feathered. If Barc hasn't got any i'm sure Kath will be able to advise where to get some from and give you a few helpful hints and tips, in the summer she usually dashes off from the meetings to put her chucks away before Mr Fox pays a visit!
Are you handy at building then or will it be one of these man jobs the one thats ongoing like my mate who fitted a new bathroom the month his partner was due to have a baby, there is still just one minor detail that needs doing, the smallest of jobs, a 2 minute job ..... Alex (the baby) is now 10!
