My little TERROR
Well, since his castration Archie has been his normal self, until half way through this week where it seems we have been visited by the Tazmanian Devil
All was well until Wednesday evening when Paul came home from work to find he had eaten his way through a full box of tissues (which were on the breakfast bar and have been for over a week now). Im not too sure why he did it because he was absolutly fine when I left him at lunch time.
Here is a picture of the mess
and the culprit coming to survey his work.
Then on Wednesday evening when I came back from running he had pulled all of the kitchen roll off the work top too and ripped that to shreds. He managed to get hold of the new kitchen roll on Thursday and ripped that to shreds too and today he has pinch two washing up sponges and destroyed them.
He has never been a dog for chewing things (apart from a little bit of the skirting board in the kitchen, but that was when he was getting his teeth through) so Im not too sure why all of a sudden he has started this. Its very difficult to put everything out of reach because he is a big dog and can look whats on top of the work surfaces without jumping up. His routine hasn't changed so its not like we have 'upset' him in that respect so I am stumped as to what it can be.
Does anyone have any ideas

archie's devilment!
oh dear, t'old lads been busy hasnt he. have you got shares in andrex or charmin cos i think you're gonna need them by the looks of it. sorry can't answer your question as to why hes started doing this but my old yorkie loves nothing more than to shred bits of paper and card up if we've put it to one side for the blue bin. its a waste of time buying a shredder when we've already got someone who loves to do it for a hobbie. maybe hes discovered a new toy just a thought. xx

Archie the andrex puppy
Is he in training for an Andrex puppy!
I'm not sure why he's doing this, Alfie my sisters dog has a fondness for doing this and he is quite a big dog too, unfortunately he has now progressed to sandwiches, biscuits, anything he can reach basically and taking dishes out of the sink!

Just spoke to my sister and you can add 1/2 dozen eggs and a pair of slippers to the above list. D'oh!

Re: My little TERROR
Thanks Sean, I'll take a look at that.
Its a bit quiet in the house today as Archie is not feeling well. We took him out for a walk yesterday through the woods and we caught him eating something not pleasent (suprise suprise)!! We thought we had got away with it and caught him in time but it seems not. Anyway, without going into detail he got us up at 5.30am this morning to go out and after seeing the results he has been starved for 24hrs. Ive given him a small, light diet tonight to start him off again so we shall see how he goes but he has been very quiet today (Ive not lost any kitchen rolls at all lol). Hes come to play a couple of times but then decided he can't be bothered and gone to lay down.
We've not been for a walk today just in case it is a bug as we don't want to be passing it around to other K9 friends. We are going to see how he is tomorrow and then off to the vets on Wednesday if he's not feeling any better.
I'll keep you posted

Re: My little TERROR
Regarding the tissue incident... I read somewhere that castration can make some dogs more nervous. Something to do with changing the hormone balance I think. So perhaps he just needs to re-adjust himself.

Re: My little TERROR
Quite right Lisa, thats exactly what i was trying to say - 'lose your parts' and the world looks a different place (so they tell me!).
Nice to see you on the Forum! Any ideas or thoughts please let us know. also check out the calendar from time to time where I will post notices of forthcoming events.

Quite right, you dont have to say a word.........................................however, I have noticed that frequently the contents of your head do often fall straight out of your mouth, or in this case your fingers!
Re: My little TERROR
Oh well, I would much rather him take his aggression out on tissues than another dog

Re: My little TERROR
Maybe that's what you need Benson, a box of tissues to take your aggression out on, then you'll leave me alone!
Who was it that use to say "Ooooh i could tear a tissue"?
