APPEAL
I dare say most of you regular visitors have heard this one before but for the new and uninitiated I shall give it one more go!
a couple of months ago Julie and Sarah both posted a thread describing how they had managed to clear, level and resurface the rear exercise yard at the kennels. It did however still need a finishing surface and so we shopped around for a quote from local firms.
Long story short - it was not in our price range at that time so we had to put it off.
unfortunately the dogs stll dont have the new grassy exercise area they deserve and are still running around on bare compacted soil, which is obviously not ideal because when its wet it gets muddy and when its dry its rock hard!
So if anyone knows where or how we can get some decent turf at a reasonable price please let us know ASAP!
Thanks!

Re: APPEAL
Ive written to a few diy stores but so far, no replies at all. Very disappointed because I thought out of 5 companies, 1 would reply and give us something!

Re: APPEAL
Have you put a request on any of the freecycle groups? I know it's a big ask, but sometimes you'd be suprised what you can get.

Re: APPEAL
How about trying the council. Not too sure about details for Barnsley Council but it might be worth contacting Rotherham Council to see if they have any left over turf at the end of the season. The number for the streetpride team who deal with the horticultural side of things is 01709 336003.
Just a thought. It might be worth a shot.

Re: APPEAL
Well guys, Ive tried both Rotherham and Barnsley Council but not had a reply from either. Paul's dad had quite a good idea about contacting local football grounds to see if they have any spare turf. The only problem with this is I know nothing about football and have no idea as to when the season finishes and if they re-turf between each season or what. Can anyone shed any light onto this and I'll be more than happy to contact them. I just don't want to sound like a complete numpty when I call them lol

Re: APPEAL
I've spoken to my colleague at work who is a big football fan who and told me when the end of the season is and that Barnsley FC will more than likely re-turf the stadium then. I've sent them an email so I'll keep you all posted on what I find out.
