Harvey Losing his fur!

Poor old Harvey is developing a bald patch down his right side, has any one had this happen to their pet? When we got harvey he did have a little hair loss on his back I think the kennels said due to being stressed. Is this common? Harvey is a very stressy nervous dog in general. He is not sore or dry skinned or bumpy skin. I just thought I would ask here before taking him to the vet, he hates being messed and looked at by the vet bless him.
