Abbey Duck has died.
It is with great sadness I announce the death of Abbey our rescued female mallard duck. She came to us 12 years ago when she had been found wandering up Dodworth Road Barnsley weaving in and out of the traffic, she was called Abbey as she came from Abbey vets who had taken her in. This last year she has reared orphaned ducklings twice, that had been found on the roads. She has been an absolute Angel. She was taken ill yesterday and had to be put to sleep by our vet Alan Beatty. She became a big pal to our old Hobbledy legged Duck Nelson. He is missing her.
Night night, God Bless Abbey. xxx

Re: Abbey Duck has died.
Thanks Angie
Things have just got worse, her friend Nelson, the old lame duck has got depressed since she went and flown off today to try and find her, and I have been out looking for him everywhere, so if anyone hears of someone finding a male mallard duck with a wonky foot please ring Kath on 01226 742950 as I don't think he will survive out there on his own.
